The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is asking residents to share their priorities as it develops its proposed 2027–28 budget. MPRB is proposing a 5.86% tax levy increase to sustain current service levels, including maintaining parks and recreation programs, protecting the tree canopy and natural areas, supporting teen jobs and after-school programs, and continuing child care and summer camp services.
There are three community budget workshops still coming up this fall. Park commissioners and MPRB leaders will explain the proposed budget, how park funding is used, and what different budget choices could mean for Minneapolis.
