The project will replace utilities, sidewalks, and the street itself while improving conditions for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users. Public Works want your input about what priorities you have for the corridor. Visit the project page for more details, to view a pre-recorded presentation, complete a survey, and join the virtual open house.

Consider Running for the South Uptown Board

A vacancy has opened up on the 9-member South Uptown Board of Directors, and the organization is hoping to fill it at the April 21 meeting. Candidates include all residents (including renters and homeowners), business owners, and property owners 18+) within South Uptown boundaries. The chosen individual will serve out a partial term with Board elections taking place in September.

The South Uptown Neighborhood Association realizes that it is an awkward time to recruit new Board Members considering the COVID-19 pandemic, but we believe it is important for the organization to continue our work to build community and strengthen the neighborhood. Dolphin returns to Bryant Square Park

The concrete dolphin formerly located in the old Bryant Square wading pool has returned to the park's picnic area to become a sculpture. South Uptown and Minneapolis Parks made sure it was preserved when the pool was reconstructed last year. Next year, South Uptown intends to work with an artist to cover the dolphin in mosaic tile tying in with the mosaic panels on the recreation center. Swing by the park to say hi to our dolphin friend!
